STRATEGIC FREIGHT TRANSPORT MODEL BASED ON PRODUCT ANALYSIS
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
Inter-regional freight transport modeling is closely related to planning issues. However, the processes of modeling freight transportation are complex, since the analysis requires the de-termination of variables and obtaining real information about freight transportation in the network. These facts lead to the need to adapt the structure of the model to a real transport network. The article discusses the strategic structure of freight transportation modeling, developed as a variant of the traditional four-stage modeling process, with additional steps for estimating freight traffic flows taking into account empty flights. A variant of testing and calibrating the proposed model is given, data, their sources, modeling methodologies used for each step, data limitations and measures taken to supplement existing ones are explained in detail.
