. The article discusses possible options for combining transportation planning models with geographic information systems (GIS) in order to integrate them. In particular, studies are devoted to the incompatibility of GIS and traditional transportation planning models when working with network topologies. The paper presents the development of an algorithm that converts a GIS topology into a topology of a transport network. Based on the topology conversion algorithm, it generates transport networks from GIS map files and establishes a connection between the two systems
