A new sorbent containing double bonds in its structure was obtained on the basis of elemental sulfur and vinylidene chloride on the surface of petcoke particles. Sulfur is pre-activated and transferred to potassium sulfide and polycondensed with vinylidene chloride. The resulting sorbent has a high activity against heavy metal ions.
